BowenWorks Mind & Body
Bowenwork is gentle on the body, effective and appropriate for anyone to receive, including newborns, highly trained athletes, pregnant women and the elderly. Each person responds differently to a Bowenwork session, according to his or her own body’s need and ability to heal.
Conditions that are seen to respond well include:
Sports and accident injuries
Stress and tension symptoms
Back pain, hip pain and sciatica
Carpal tunnel and tennis elbow
Neck and shoulder problems
Knee, ankle and foot problems
Menstrual and hormonal irregularities
Migraines and headaches
Chronic fatigue syndrome
digestive and bowel problems
Arthritis and joint pain
Jaw and TMJ problems
What is a Bowenwork session like?
The practitioner will take a brief health history and ask about the reason(s) for your visit to select the best techniques to use for that day. The client should wear or bring light-weight, loose fitting clothing that the practitioner can work through. After each set of moves, the practitioner will leave the room to allow your body time to respond and relax.
Following your session, some changes may be noticeable right away, such as reduced pain, greater range of motion and a deep sense of relaxation and well-being. You may notice other changes over the next several days. Sound sleep and increased energy are commonly reported.
